PSS is an open source GUI for scanning items and retrieving the associated data.
The main reason for this is I have a CueCat laying around gathering dust :)
For example, you scan the ISBN of a book, it retrieves that particular books information and inserts it into a database, exports it as a CSV or something similar.
You can then import this into your inventory program and do what you want with it.
Status
Current release is 1.0b4 (released October 29, 2005)

Upcoming Features
Some of the upcoming features in the new version of PSS:
- Exporting of data into CSV/MySQL
- Getting the Games & Movie retriever working
- ... Let me know if you have any suggestions
Why should I use PSS?
As I stated above, I created it mainly to stop my CueCat from gathering dust. However, I did also want to inventory my books/dvds/games and integrate them into a signout system (No Adam, I'm not going to use opendb or whatever you call it :P).
It's really up to you if you want to use PSS or not.
